Under the guidance of PhotoDoug. I redid the Bel Air pic, and also painted a 1966 Olds 442 W30. The weather was far too nice not to paint another car.

The model in the ad for the Olds 442 kit sparked the idea for the Tamiya Cobalt Green. It’s a beautiful colour and suits the car. My first time trying it.

        Drew,

Wow! A classic colour that is hard to beat. Love the black hood and white roof. The hood scoop looks like it’s meant for business.

One KRZ custom chassis is on the build sheet for you.

Yesterday was a great day for painting near the end of the day around 7pm. The wind finally died down.

I can no longer look at the blue paint job on the 65 Impala. The chassis will fit under this Bel Air body instead. Both cars have a 120mm wheelbase.

These pics are the inspiration for this build. Looks like I’m installing a red interior. A nice change from black.

It was a cool and interesting workshop. Thank you very kindly.

                Very nice looking car, Steve.

Looking forward to seeing it race.

                Happy Easter!

At first I was in shock because I thought it was to remain as track decor.

Looking forward to the seeing the car restored.

I just noticed the black Hot Rod in the background of the first photo. I remember it was so tall, that it actually hit the overpass with a loud “Tock” sound. Everyone turned around and wondered what happened. We were looking for broken car parts. Nothing broke off. But there’s a large scrape on the roof, and a matching mark under the overpass.

In case anyone was wondering? Trucks likely won’t fit the Nova Ridge track.

It was great to try a few vintage Cox cars. They are cool in thier own way.

Even though 1/25 scale is 4% smaller than 1/24. That 1/25 Chevy Impala is a monster compared to the rest of the 1/24 cars.

                        Hi Felix,

Thank you for the correction. My humble apologies for the mistake.

I am curious if the PF 1300 will work with the Big Bruiser class?

You already mentioned that you are going with a Fox 10 motor. Are you able to use Art’s wheels and urethane tires on the Pla-fit chassis?

The track room has been rather dark since the ballast stopped working on one side. The ballast is tucked away behind a curtain and not very easy to get to. It’s tough to make progress on the track or even race when you can’t see. The track has been dormant for a while.

JonnyRocket came over today and helped fix the ballast and install some new track lighting. We also stuck a few pics on the walls.

What a difference. I’m once again inspired to keep moving ahead. The cars absolutely sparkle under the LED lighting. Breathtaking.

Very nice looking body, Felix. I’ve always liked the 70 Monte Carlo.

The AMT Impala’s (all the various years) have the same wheelbase of 120mm just like your Monte Carlo.

My prototype chassis is not quite as fanciful as the H&R Racing chassis. But it works well. At this point the DArt wheels/tires, and Fox 10 motor are the foundation of this new class. The chassis can be made out of anything you wish.

What’s an H&R Racing chassis going for these days?

I agree with you MiA. That’s more of a conversation piece than a race track. At $100,000 dollars, I’m not a buyer.

But it sure is getting the spotlight on all the forums these days.

What took you so long to chime in, brother? 🙂

This is still in the testing stages at Nova Ridge track only. It’s far from an official class yet.

The H&R Racing chassis, and Monte Carlo look cool.

Last night Doug Crichton from Group 25 invited me over to his place. He says he has the tail light lenses, dashboards, and steering wheels for all the kits we just bought. Yay!

I said “Sure, I’ll drop in tomorrow. What’s the address?” Doug says Cambridge… Ouch! He drives to Toronto every month for the meetings. In for a penny. In for a pound.

I had a treatment that took the whole morning. Then immediately hopped in my car and spent the afternoon in traffic. It was a fun day.

But, I have all the missing parts for eleven kits except the tail lights for the Pontiac 2+2. Art was lucky enough to get that one Pontiac kit, and can probably make one custom set.

Doug and I enjoyed some model car talk. Doug’s a great guy. He’s preparing another volley of different cars in a month or two after he cleans up his basement. I can hardly wait to see what’s coming up next.

There’s also one set of chrome Starliner door handles for Jim.

I’ll hand over the dashes, steering wheels, and lenses when I see everyone.

                                      Cheers,

                                      Ken

                                          That’s one beautiful looking Starliner.

By the way. I’m seeing the guy that supplied the kits later today. Tail lights for everyone may be arriving very shortly. He apparently still has them.

He may have your door handles too, Jim.

There has been an update to the motor configuration and gears. It’s suggested to use an inline 14/30, 13/28, or 12/26 for MVL or NR. 10/23 works well on shorter tracks.

I used to repair automated labellers, and all sorts of other equipment on it. It’s evolved as an unplanned retirement seems to be taking over. I’m simply going with the flow.
