Got stuck at work later than usual, won’t be able to make it. Have a good night.
Joe
A good night of racing thanks Drew.
Great report MIA love the historic facts, just to clarify the #52 Camaro T/A from the Trudeau Motors stable out of Belleville ON was driven by Foxboro hot shoe Langfield “Hoppy” Hart with help from crew chief Benny Ferguson taking a break from his duties as manager at North Front St. Fina.
Only MIA will get that one.

I will try to make but may be too late for the first race. If thats okay let me know.

Your right my Carrera Talladega came in at 105 g with no rocks. We run 18k motors in our club for that class so the weight isn’t that much of a factor and with no weight rule so I have never put it on the scales. I have time to build a brass chassis so I can put the weight where I want and still make the min.
Joe
Wow 100g min. I’m going to have to go out and get a rock from the garden!!!
Sign me up as well. Does the Classic Stock Car class use BWA S-can motor?

Ken I’m going to take a pass on the GT 40 my 512 ran good enough last week, I’ll just stick with it at this time. Thanks very much for the offer.

Great pictures thanks Art and MVL for a good day of racing. I thought the #11 Hooters car was Jeremy Mayfield but it’s actually Brett Bodine who was also driving the #26 Quaker State car, wow pretty impressive Brett!!! :good:
Thanks for a great race day at the Spa, see everyone at the swap meet.
Nice work Bill I didn’t know KFC delivered back in the day, doesn’t look like DoorDash!!!!
Very nice great to see a Canadian livery done. I checked Nat Adams on racingsportscars he drove some nice cars the Jag would be a great build. By the look of the photo it may have been taken down my way at Harewood Acres between Jarvis & Port Dover it has that old airstrip look.

If you look at Pendles site in the spares section under chassis, it looks like they have a replacement chassis for that car. It list at 4 pounds.
Joe
Amazing stuff Bill something very different, as for the Chappy’s numbers if you look at the entry list for 1967 they entered a 2D and 2F and those cars usually ran with single digit numbers as far as I could see.
Joe
Very cool list of chassis Chris. I have an old magazine article showing the Russkit chassis holding two AA batteries in those side pods to allow head/tail lights looked like a perfect fit.

We lost a good one in John always fun to race with and talk slot cars or real cars. Whether it was a slot car race, Mosport or the bar at the Seneca Lodge on the Vintage Race weekend in Watkins Glen whenever I ran into John he was always ready to talk and share his enthusiasm for our hobby.
Race on John RIP.

Hi Dave
What was done to strengthen the 3 piece body on the Austin kit for slot car duty? I have a Revell Highway Pioneers Ferrari that is the same 3 piece style but I’m afraid it won”t hold up if I build it.
Nice group of cars by the way.
Joe
Ya you have to our age to remember that one. Great tips I wouldn’t have thought you could do the coats that close together are the first ones very light and then a heavier last coat?
Ahh grasshopper when you can cross the basement floor without raising a single grain of dust, then and only then are you ready to paint!!!!
Very nice Ken where did the body and decals come from.
Ken
I built the AirFix Jag with a PCS chassis and BWA motor it worked okay. You could make a cool early Trans Am car with the Barracuda, easy livery most of those cars were one colour with numbers stuck on for the race. If you check the Cougar T/A three part video’s on YouTube they show a few different Cuda’s in the race footage.

February 13, 2019 at 12:15 pm in reply to: Lotus 30 – DArt Body & Scratch Sidewinder Low Power Motor Chassis #10597Interesting build Art. I’m not sure about the Neg. Camber setting for the front wheels since they don’t turn like in a real car application to increase the contact patch during cornering are you doing it to reduce rolling resistance of the front tires or contact patch in corners. In the slot car application the front tires act as a stabilizing factor in turns to prevent tipping, I guess this chassis design allows for some articulation of the front axle but would not taper cutting the front tires create the same effect.
In the total axle width measurements you have two numbers what due smaller numbers in the brackets represent the larger number is the track width inside the body?
Joe
Hi Guys
Hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Years.
I came across another similar site from Japan as well Hobby Search with all those same model kits, I ordered two kits and tried to check out with Paypal. The site linked me to Paypal Japan so I was a little gun shy to continue, has anybody else had this happen? I have ordered from the UK and USA and they have always link directly to my Canadian account, has anybody had this happen.
I have a Arii 1967 Datsun 2000 Fairlady and the 1971 Nissan Skyline GTR that ran in 71 Japanese GT series in my shopping cart.
Joe
Wow cool build Bill !!! I have a Betta fibre glass 1950 Alfa that’s been sitting waiting ,your car has given me some inspiration to start working on it. I guess 1950 would have to run in a different class though.
