    RINGWOOD XXX

    THE RING

    August 12, 2019

    For the 30th time Ringwood returns on August 12, 2019 – our longest running event! Featuring the greatest years of Grand Prix racing from the inception of the World Driver’s Championship right up to the dominance of the great Ford Cosworth V8 – 1950 through to 1980! Scratch32 rules for the following four classes apply:

    • 1950’s Grand Prix;
    • 1.5L Grand Prix;
    • 3L Grand Prix;
    • 1970’s Grand Prix.

    IMPORTANT REMINDER:

    The Vanski FF050 motor is no longer eligible for our scratch32 1.5L Grand Prix class. You will remember my post from May (click here to go to that post) – I’ve quoted the pertinent lines:

    “Looking ahead and given feedback to date we’ll be implementing a few updates to our scratch32 rules (v4) for this summer. These will be:

    • restricting the 1.5L Grand Prix (15LGP) class motor to the BWMS050 ONLY and removing the VANSKI as an option – since they have not been available for many years now – VANSKI motors are still eligible for other low power motor scratch32 classes (unless specifically excluded);”

    Make sure to register up to three models for each class within this thread. If it is a new model being presented to the grid for the first time please also complete our online model registration form which you will find on our Welcome/Forms page – just use the top bar menu to navigate there from anywhere…

    NEW:

    Deadline to register all competing models is at NOON on the day of the event. Late or non-registered models will not compete.  All models you register before NOON on the day of the event WILL RACE – up to three per class – so choose the models you wish to race and register just those models only. If you register 4 models for one class then only the first three will be entered and be eligible for the race.

    Don’t miss the deadline to register so don’t leave registration to the last minute – register early if you plan to attend!

    I would love to be part of it although I do not have any scratch build cars yet, but I appreciate being able to participate as a place holder.

    Anyway I only have cars for the 1950 GP a Maserati #5 driven by Shelby and for the 3.0 L GP Lotus #9 driven by Graham Hill.

    I put D’Arts urethane tires on them, I trued the tires added some weight and glued the bushings

    I will see you guys on Monday

      MiA, if you don’t have time to swap the motors in the 1.5l Grand Prix cars bring them anyway – we’ll sort that out when you get here… :yes:
